Bill Flores Social Media Comment Policy
Bill Flores utilizes social media to publish useful information and to update voters in the 17th District of Texas about the work he is doing in Congress and the activities of his campaign.
Voters in the 17th Congressional District are welcome to post comments on our social media platforms are subject to the guidelines set forth below. In general, Bill believes that commenters should follow the "golden rule" of treating others in a way that the commenter would want to be treated. In other words, Bill and his team should be treated the way that commenter would wanted to be treated. This concept is particularly important in light of the coarse, hyper-politicized, and threat-prone environment in America today.
Our guidelines are as follows:
- Threats or threatening statements of any kind will immediately be forwarded to federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities
- Comments posted by users on our social media platforms do not necessarily reflect the Bill's views or the members of his campaign team
- We reserve the right to delete comments that include-
- Profanity or vulgar language
- Name-calling
- Threats or personal attacks
- Repetitive complaining and/or spamming
- Referring to false or unverified information
- Inappropriate or false accusations
- Contains advertising or solicitation of any kind
- Referring to the campaigns of other candidates
- Links to other websites or publications
- Unrelated or irrelevant content to the topic of conversation; this includes content that is "out of character" with an original post/thread, e.g., a critical comment posted on a thread that honors a Veteran will be removed
- Other inappropriate comments or material
- Comments posted by persons not living in the 17th District of Texas may be removed at our sole discretion
- Persons who violate these guidelines are subject to being blocked from our social media resources
